THE EAGLES MERE FOUNDATION

           MISSION STATEMENT

The Eagles Mere Foundation is a community foundation funded by donors who share the Foundation’s vision of preserving and enhancing the unique character of Eagles Mere.  The Foundation serves as a “safety net” for Eagles Mere non-profits, and annually makes grants in support of community projects.

The Foundation received approval in 2006 from the Internal Revenue Service to change to a Community Foundation.  While this change in status from a private foundation does not alter the Mission of the Foundation, it does give the Foundation more flexibility when it comes to grant giving.  It also permits the establishment of “donor advised funds” whereby the donor may name the fund and advise the Foundation on distributions from the fund.  The donor may be an individual, a family or a community organization.
